Fifteen kilos of german oak wood
Freshly felled solid oak trunks are put into the woodturning lathe while they are still completely wet. Here they are manually shaped into stools. Right afterwards, BIG BABEL is placed into boxes filled with wood shavings in order to dry. Throughout this six months period, they are turned every week. It is here, that the corpus develops its characteristic cracking. Once the surface has been polished, the extraordinarily beautiful grain emerges. As a result, each 15 kilos BIG BABEL is unique.
Ø 31 x 39 cm (Ø 12.2 x 15.35 in.) solid german oak wood from regional forestry, waxed; crafted only from the trunk wood; underlaid with nature grey felt; made in the Black Forest.
