A sketch in abstraction
In boules, the players must throw their balls as close as possible to the jack. Unbelievably simple rules for such an exciting game. With each throw, new images emerge from the balls creating geometric abstractions upon the sandy ground. Simple, ephemeral works of art. The BOULE fruit bowl captures this spirit and continues the game. Every BOULE composition of hand cut, solid oakwood balls is made and assembled in a small manufacture by the French border. An apple a day or a full arrangement completes the sculptural composition – until the next throw.
